When you connect through to this site, our server automatically logs certain information, recording the IP address that you are connecting from and the browser that you are using for example. However, no personal information is collected, so we cannot individually identify anyone that accesses this site.

In addition, the server records the pages that you visit or that you request. This not only helps us make sure that our information is kept relevant, but it is also important to help preserve security, since we can see if anyone is attempting to gain unauthorised access.

If you contact us via email, your message is relayed to a different computer that is not directly accessible from the Internet. Email is not kept on this server for more than a week or so before it is deleted. Subject to local government and law enforcement requirements, any information that you send to us will not be disclosed to anybody else without your permission. We do not provide information to third parties.

Like many websites, we use cookies. However, we only use Google cookies and only for the purpose of traffic analysis. This allows us to see what pages people visit, what links they follow how long they look at each page, for example. We don't collect any personally identifiable information or make use of the cookies in any other way.

If you wish, you can avoid this sort of tracking either by turning Javascript off, or else by disabling cookies. The precise mechanism to delete or disable cookies depends on the browser that you are using, so you will need to refer to the appropriate help documentation. (Further information on the cookies used by Google Analytics can be found at https://developers.google.com/analytics/resources/concepts/gaConceptsCookies)

SightSet includes a feature to download (occasional) database updates - for new targets & sight defintions. If you click on the Download button on the Settings screen it contacts our server, checks to see if there is an update for your version of the application, and downloads one if there is. In doing so, our server simply logs the IP address requesting the connection.

In addition, both iOS and Android can log a limited amount of app usage information. It is, however, under your control whether you opt in or out of providing this information or not. In the event that you do, we do not collect any personally identifiable data. The relevant app stores collate the information and simply provide us with a summary of how many users are actively using the app, not who or where they are.
